چکیده

The mature publishing and information industries were faced in the mid ‘90’s by the rise of unforeseen technology and unfamiliar digitized formats as proposed vehicles for information which would previously have been presented in the flat environment of print on paper. During this period, publishers and other content providers were frequently chastised for their seeming inability to adjust to industry change and were likened to manufacturers of buggy whips who were unable to make the adjustment from an age of horse-drawn vehicles to the age of the automobile.
